Z-CRT

Wake up to better vision with Z-CRT.

When you are nearsighted, distant objects appear blurry. Normally people wear glasses, contacts or surgery to correct this. Today, there is another great alternative - Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). CRT designed lenses provide a new and non-surgical option for patients with myopia. Patients wear lenses that gently reshape their cornea as they sleep.

This can work with or without moderate astigmatism. When patients remove their CRT lenses in the morning, the reshaped cornea allows light to focus on the retina. The result is clear, natural vision for all or most of the time patients are awake.

CRT is FDA approved for up to –6.00 diopters of myopia and up to –1.75 diopters of astigmatism. Generally, the most successful patients are under –4.50 diopters, but myopes with up to –6.00 diopters have also experienced great success. CRT is primarily a single lens therapy over a period of 5-14 days and takes advantage of advancements in computerized corneal mapping, computerized manufacturing and oxygen permeable contact lens materials to produce a therapeutic lens that is unique in its design and application.

Best of all, since 2006, the CRT design is available using the Menicon Z material - providing your eyes with the highest level of oxygen permeability available today.

If your eye care professional feels you are a good candidate for corneal reshaping with CRT, you will be given a thorough eye exam and CRT evaluation. In some cases, your cornea may be mapped on a topography instrument so your eye care professional can have additional baseline data to evaluate your progress.

Ask your eye care professional to have your CRT lenses made in Menicon Z (Z-CRT) and, in order to keep your lenses clean and disinfected, have them get you started on the Menicon lens care solutions which are available to you on the Menicon WebStore.
