What is Presbyopia?

Presbyopia is the gradual loss of your eyes ability to focus your near vision. It’s completely natural and usually becomes noticeable in your early to mid-40s.

You may become aware of presbyopia when you start holding your mobile devices, books or newspapers at arms length to be able to read them. A basic eye exam can confirm presbyopia which can easily be corrected with contact lenses or spectacles.

You will see on your prescription the word ‘ADD’. This refers to the amount of additional help you require for your near vision.
