Menicon Co. Ltd. Announced: Anton Scherer has joined the company taking up the position of President at Menicon GmbH.
He has over 25 year experience in contact lens industry.
Anton begins his new role effective November 1, 2015.
As mentioned, Anton Scherer has a very good experience in contact lens business and market knowledge.
His career started with Ciba Vision (Alcon). During his 25-year career at the company, he acted in different positions – R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Professional Service, Marketing, Key Account Management.
After that time, he was successfully involved in the construction of Sauflon. His responsibilities were marketing manager and Head Key Account manager (DACH).
He was significantly focused on developing the patient management system “Lens System Direct” for Germany – Austria and Switzerland.
After the acquisition of Sauflon by the CooperVision GmbH, he acted in Key Account management and had the lead of professional service (DACH).
With his depth knowledge of contact lens business in Europe he wants to extend the Menicon-product portfolio in RGP sector, as well as the Menicon lens care products.
In addition, his core task will be to enhance the soft lenses sector with monthly and daily contact lenses.
His claim is: "to provide a complete portfolio of Menicon contact lens products to the ECPs with a strong customer relationship.
