Miru disposable contact lens family brings you a better experience with hygiene and safety.

New vision of "Miru" for the world.

If you were to ask them, most people would probably name sight as their most important sense[1]. We at Menicon couldn’t agree more. That’s why we named our comprehensive and versatile product family of disposable contact lenses “Miru” which means 'to see' and to sense and share fun and enjoyment through all five senses.

A basic requirement for long-term safe and healthy contact lens wear is comfortable products that are easy and hygienic to use. These criteria are at the top of the wish list of many contact lens wearers [2]. With the two daily disposable contact lens families, Miru 1day Menicon Flat Pack and Miru 1day UpSide, Menicon offers a product portfolio that meets these needs by implementing unique technologies.

Smart Touch™, a unique technology for a high level of user comfort.

In our hectic everyday lives there is little time, so a product that offers easy, hassle-free, hygienic contact lens wear is of great benefit to the wearers. Often daily disposable lenses are worn flexibly, alternating with glasses, and are sometimes applied under less favorable hygienic conditions. Miru daily disposable lenses take this into account: handling is particularly easy and hygienic - a big plus, especially for occasional wearers.

This is made possible by Smart Touch™, a unique packaging technology which allows the surface of the lens to remain uncontaminated up to the point of application. The wearer only touches the outer surface of the lens. The unique smart zone in the case ensures the inner lens surface faces downwards so the lens can be removed and applied without touching the inner surface. The design concept is to increase convenience and comfort, making handling more hygienic and hassle free, especially for new and occasional wearers. The reassurance of knowing the lens is not inside out should not be underestimated, especially for new, occasional and presbyopic wearers, who often find it difficult to recognize whether the lens sits the right way up on their finger prior to application. A survey among wearers revealed that 92% of multifocal lens wearers have worn their lenses inside out and 91% of Smart Touch™ users agree that the lens being the correct way up in the blister pack is an advantage [3]. Smart Touch™ brings ease of mind for both the fitter and the wearer.

Two great products for comfortable lens wear.

The Miru 1day Menicon Flat Pack is characterized by an exceptionally practical, but also environmentally friendly package. In addition to the benefits of Smart Touch™ technology, this lens comes in the slimmest contact lens packaging in the world - at around 1mm thick. The packaging is made from recycled materials. Less raw materials are used overall and there is less total waste compared to traditional blisters. This thoughtfully designed ultra-slim, lightweight packaging is easy to store taking up little space, great when traveling or for sport and comes with a convenient 90 lens storage case.

The silicone hydrogel material of Miru 1day UpSide lets the eyes breathe. The very low modulus of only 0.36 MPa offers the comfort and softness of a hydrogel lens. The use of NanoGloss™ Pro technology makes the lens surface very smooth with good antimicrobial resistance [4]. The gentle low friction lens surface aims to allow the eyelid to easily glide over the lens to enhance wearing comfort over long wearing schedules [5]. A unique Silicone Hydrogel daily disposable lens delivering on health, hygiene, comfort and convenience even during long wearing schedules. A great choice for flexible wear and to match busy active lifestyles with the added benefit of Smart Touch™. *Miru UpSide coming to US market Winter 2022*

Multifocal lenses - a big potential for eye care practitioners.

Miru 1day UpSide Multifocal features the innovative Neuro Adaptive Design™ which facilitates adaptation with smooth transitions through near, intermediate and far viewing. This makes the lens an attractive option for the ever-growing target group of presbyopia patients. This provides maximum flexibility, whether it be for new presbyopic wearers or those choosing to alternate between spectacles and contact lenses on a part time basis.

Miru – to sense and to see.

In addition to the two daily lenses described here, the Miru disposable lens portfolio also includes a silicone hydrogel monthly lens family, Miru 1month, which offers spherical, toric, and multifocal versions.
Miru means to sense and share fun and enjoyment through all five senses. This comprehensive portfolio of high-quality contact lenses offers many unique and innovative features which allow ECPs to provide their patients with good and comfortable vision so they can enjoy their lives to the fullest.
